Deflector?

edited August 2005 in Feature Mustangs
Hi. Underneath my '92, towards the front, is a long piece of black plastic. My guess is that it's an air deflector of sorts (can someone confirm?). Anyway, mine is ripped and I'd like to replace it with one that is new or newish. Does anyone have ideas? Thanks

  • It's the chin spoiler, or rock deflector. I replaced this item on all my cars this year. It gets torn up pretty easy from hitting a curb stop in a parking lot. This is one item Ford does still carry. They are around $17.00. When it's new it looks good when looking at the front of the car. Sorry, but I threw away the package, and no longer have the part number, but they are still being prouced. Good luck.
  • Another option:

I also saw them at Performance Parts, Inc.

It is listed closer to the bottom of the page under Exterior parts as "Front air deflector". Cost is $19.99.

I have been thinking of replacing mine. It's not bad but is has definitely spent some time getting to know curbs as the lower edge is pretty chewed.
