Mustang graveyard found in RI

I don't know if any of you have seen this elsewhere but I was so shocked that I needed to share. So, I thought it was a good opportunity to expand the forums to allow us to get a little off topic.

I spotted it today on one of my favorite general car info sites Jalopnik.

Massive Secret Mustang Junkyard Found In Rhode Island Forest
Imagine a secret junkyard frozen in time somewhere around the 70's with every bit of vintage hardware stretching for hundreds of acres. Classic Mustangs, Camaros, Cadillacs, Hemis; you name it, it's here. But not for long: The law man's saying to crush 'em.
Judging by the photos, satellite and aerial views, there must be several hundred cars there.

Hopefully something can be saved before its too late. Sad.

    Very sad, Some of those cars I think are too far gone... RUSTY!
    I hope somone saves them, there were alot of fastbacks too..

    It sure is an odd collection.. I can see mid 1980's cars and trucks (even a fox body or two) next to a mid 1920's delviery truck... :?:

    I have seen some big junk yards but nothing like this.

    Very sad too that most of them are about worthless. Still lots of good parts.

    Interesting. I will have to dig a little as I seem to get one too many car magazine's delivered to my house, but I remember reading a article about a year ago about a classic junkyard. They had pics of the cars and it looks very similar. They were even looking at some of the cars and reporting on what the car is based on door and vin tags.

    I will have to try and dig it up and see if it is the same place.

    On the same lines, I found this website a while back. Check out some of the cars on it, pretty cool.

    One last thought....I continue to be amazed with technology. Maybe I am starting to show my age but seriously, that "aerial" view of the junkyard is pretty amazing. I have looked at my house on line with it before and you can see my car in the driveway and the pool covered. In a few years as the technology improved you may be able to see in my windows!!

    I have seen the cars in barns site and it is simply amazing that some of these places exhist. I had a friend of mine tell me recently that as he was traveling to Indy, he spotted a home with dozens of fox bodies around it. Maybe the next gen of "secret" finds. Original parts for our foxes are getting harder and harder to find. Just food for thought.
