'92 Feature Mustang

edited May 2011 in Feature Mustangs
My info from Ford shows that the original tires were:
P225/55 ZRx16 BSW All-Season Performance

I am the 5th owner. I know that these cars came with either Michelin's or Goodyear's, but haven't been able to determine which brand came on my car.

It is important to know the original brand in that I show it at MCA shows in "Unrestored" Class.

Maybe someone has "original tires" that came on the cars could advise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ray

  • Ray,
I am the second owner of my 92 and just replaced the original rubber. They were goodyear tires. The original owner said she never replaced the tires and the warranty in the glove box was from Goodyear as well.

I really think it was (and still is) a matter of what tires were available at the plant and who gave the best price.

  • mine came with michelin XGT4s. the goodyears were eagle gatorbacks. both z-rated. those were the two choices though i think the default was the goodyears.
  • All 91-93 5L Mustang LX came with Michelin standard. Goodyears were a no cost option.
  • that's right now that i think about it. it was the GTs that had the goodyears by default, right?
