? about sequence #

edited January 2007 in Feature Mustangs
My sequence # starts with 20----. While doing the vin decoder, it says sequence # starting at 10000. What exactly does this mean? I know its a Feat. car by the stamping on the buck tag. I was just wondering because after looking at where are they now, I've seen a few like this? Thanks for any info you can give.

  • I don't know if it is clear but sequence numbering applies to all 1993 Mustangs of which there were 114,228 according to the quick Google search I just did.

    Numbering started at 100001. So, 100001 was the 1st 1993 Mustang. 199999 was the 99,999th 1993 Mustang, 200000 was the 100,000th 1993 Mustang, 200001 was the 100,001st 1993 Mustang, and so on.

Since feature Mustangs were produced into July 1993 the later ones do have 2xxxxx sequence numbers.

I hope that clears it up.
