Thanks, Ryan and jkupka, for your posts - I'll check them out in a week or two...

Hey, congratulations! I'm not surprised because your car looks so nice!

Sorry for the delayed response - just lost a close friend and have been/will be out of the loop for a few days.
The tires were placed on a machine that allowed them to be rotated and visually checked for roundness. After that, they were… -
BTW...The tires on my car are Dunlop Direzzas. They go for around $145 each. You may want to think twice before purchasing any of them...

Just wanted to let you know that we're figuring it's the tires themselves that have been causing the wobbling. The front end is tight, the tires are balanced, and while visiting my auto body shop today, I was told that the tires are the only thing …

He didn't let on what the actual name was, but said it's only available through auto body suppliers. I found a solvent that sounds like the one he used. It's called 3M Prep Solvent-70 (he specifically called the liquid a pre-cleaner) and it's avai…

Problem solved... I went to my local body shop today and when he saw the faded, dirty looking trim piece, he said, "here, try this pre-cleaning solution." I tried it and the trim looks like new. No clue as to how it got the way it was, but am reli…

It really does look terrific against the red paint - nice job! I came this close to buying a red '92 GT before I settled on my feature car and was thinking how white lettering would look on that, too.

Thanks for all of your helpful responses. This coming week, I hope to have our local auto body guy take a look and give me an opinion, too. I've come to trust him and I've seen his work in restoring several 1st and 2nd generation Corvettes (am I a…

Sounds like sage advice, if I can wait that long...

It's bad enough that it detracts from the rest of the paint on the driver's side of the car and now, I tend to focus in on it whenever I see the car. I'm a type A person and need to get it fixed soon or go nuts thinking about it...

Thanks, Stangfan, for the tip. I think I'll need to get the trim painted first, but will try your suggestion to protected it after that...

You may have figured it out, Rare92 - thanks! I'll try to post some pics if I get a chance...

I've heard two different stories - one person said I'll definitely get a ticket while another said just carry the plate in the car and show it if I get pulled over. Hopefully, the bracket I bought will work... Thanks!

Two Shelbys??? Wow, that's cool! I'm sure I'll feel the leather, too, but that's why the good Lord made straw seats and beach towels!

Yeah, getting black leather was one of my biggest fears, but it was too nice to pass up. In my last Mustang, I bought straw seat pads that worked great to allow some air flow between my derriere and the hot seat. Sounds like I'd better buy them so…

I wonder if some velcro (applied to both surfaces) and/or some foam padding applied only to the back of the license plate frame might work... It'll be my first challenge -

Thanks, VibrantChick. And your '92 looks great, too...

I just bought a used license frame bracket on eBay and am hoping that the bottom mounts, which extend horizontally for a couple of inches, are enough to hold the frame and plate without having to drill. Fingers crossed...

Luckily, the car has spent its entire life down south and never seen salt or snow. That's one of the things I was looking for in a car.
104 degrees? I'd never put the top down if it was that hot around here!in New Member... Comment by frankenstang July 2009

Thanks, 2carnuts. I just hope I can find time to join in the discussion once in a while. I see from your pic that you caught the bug, too!

Thanks, Rare92, I hope it will be a good investment. I live in the northeast, but won't ever take my new car out past October or early November. New England winters can be brutal...

Thanks for the tip on putting the front plate on the dash, FlyinTiger. It hadn't occurred to me to do that, but I'll be sure to check with our local DMV when I register the car.

I'll try to answer both posts in one message. The car was actually on autotrader.com, where there are a few more yellow '93s, but this one had the lowest mileage at the time and I was able to get the price down quite a bit. It helped that it was a…
