Carlisle 2010 Pictures Posted

Tonight I went through all of my photos and picked out some to share. You can find them in my PicasaWeb Carlisle 2010 photo album.

I never want to have a single copy of any computer file and this especially true for my photos. I lost pictures once and I never want it to happen again. So, since I already use Picasa as my Windows picture manager, I started to use PicasaWeb for online photo storage. It has worked quite well. Each night while at Carlisle I uploaded the days pictures to PicasaWeb.

Carlisle 2010 Trip Report

This was the most stormy Carlisle All-Ford Nationals in my fours years of attendance. But, we didn’t let that get us down. We still had a great time. This year I tried something different with my use of twitter to post pictures and short updates as the show went on. Thanks to all those who followed my twitter stream. I used my “dumb phone” to take the pictures and type the messages using the numeric keypad. It was a little bit of a pain but some of the messages I pre-typed before the trip so as not to have to do it while driving.

Attendance was slightly better than last year:

Ken B. (from NJ) – Sat, Sun – 1992 Vibrant Red
Brian E. (from PA) – Fri, Sun – 1992 Vibrant Red
Tom G. (From MD) – Fri, Sat, Sun – 1992 Vibrant Red
Amy H. (from MD) – Fri, Sat – 1993 Canary Yellow
Bob H. (From PA) – Fri, Sat – 1990 Emerald Green
Tim H. (from PA) – Fri, Sat, Sun – 1993 Vibrant White
Dawn L. (from MD) – Sat – 1992 Vibrant Red
Mike P. (from MA) – Fri, Sat, Sun – 1992 Vibrant Red

7-up Car Lost in Fire

This year at Carlisle we again saw Nick P. who, while not a member of this site, has joined us the past three years with his ’90 7-up. He informed us that he lost it in a garage fire earlier this year. He mentioned that it was on the news so I found some coverage of it here. It is a sad loss but he credits his cat with alerting him to the fire. You can see the rear of the car in the video. It was a total loss but was covered fully through his agreed-value classic car insurance and serves as a good reminder to us all of the importance of the right insurance coverage. I think he said he had either Hagerty or Grundy.

Cruise to Carlisle 2010

Cruise to Carlisle banner

Joe over at 5pt0joe.com has put together some details on a cruise down to the 2010 Carlisle All-Ford Nationals on June 3, 2010. He has a page devoted to the topic. Joe and I did the drive together last year and it worked out pretty well.

His banner graphic, which you can see above, comes from a picture he took at the start of our trip last year. You can see another fox body ahead of us. We thought we had a third car in with us when this guy joined us near Waterbury, CT. Alas, he only stayed on 84W for a few miles before exiting. We are hoping for more people to join in officially this year. It should be fun. See Joe’s site for a registration form.

2010 Carlisle All-Ford Nationals Registration

Tom G. (noac) yesterday brought my attention to the fact that registration for Carlisle All-Ford Nationals for 2010 is open. I don’t know how long it has been open. I have tried to get to the registration form quite a few times yesterday and today and have experienced a lot of problems.

But, when I did get there I was surprised to see a list of clubs predefined which is different from past years where it was just free form type in. And, guess what? TripleWhiteFox.com is listed.

I haven’t been in communication with them since the last show so I guess they are assuming there will be a contingent from this site as there has been in past years. So, lets not let them down.

I just registered myself. I will have more details in the near future as I haven’t even started planning yet. But, you can assume it will be generally the same – we’ll get a tent and I will be sending out emails to rally the troops.
