exhaust woes

help ! I recently discovered a hole in the front of my muffler case about 2/3 of the way up on the pipe with a crack radiating from there to the top of the pipe. This is the original system and I would like to very much keep it that way but there appears to be no such options. Unfortunatly I live in a state with inspections so something must be done to obtain a liscense renewal. Of course I could spot weld the area but the crack indicates to me the repair would be short lived at best. So do I just bow to the inevitable and buy the flowmasters etc. or has someone else out there conquered this problem ?

Try here. I just got their catalog, and I was quite impressed with the selection of OEM/stock parts. I found the catalog much easier to read and find original parts in. Good luck
