Original Top Detail

Was the detail strip (sorry, don't know the correct name) that runs across the 4th bow just above the window original on the '93s? I've seen pics both ways.

    As far as I know, the '93s didn't originally have them...

    It was not on the 1992/93 convertibles. I think it was on the 1990's. It's disappearance may have coincided with the redesign of the convertible top linkage in 1991.

    I think that John is correct on your question. Ford revised the tops in 91.

    Excellent- one less thing to mess with.

    We got the new top on last weekend, and just finished painting the door / trunk jambs.

    Tomorrow looks like the big day - ole' Hester gets the full body paint job...

    and yes- we installed the top before paint- decided we didn't want to risk chipping the paint (or even worrying about it) while installing the top. Made for a difficult tape-off - but worth it I think.
