Question...im getting a new top installed but...

edited March 2011 in Feature Mustangs
The guy who is doing it told me the new tops are not 'meant' to be put down with the rear glass window in place. He said that's why the rear window has a zipper and that it has to be removed each time the top is put town. I had never heard of this before and wiht my original top I always put the top down with the window.

any thoughts???

  • IIRC, Ford recommends the same thing, but no one ever listens, including myself.
  • I never take mine out neither.
  • For the 1992 . page 127 of the owners manual---LOWERING THE CONVERTIBLE TOP,,,THE BACK WINDOW MUST BE IN PLACE ! My 2 cents !!!!
  • I had my top replaced about 10 years ago, and have never heard of this one.
