WINDSHIELD MOLDING, LH/RH TOP
So has anyone changed out this part? It's the top molding between the cov top header gasket and the windshield.
I was detailing my car yesterday and noticed the 3M tape was getting a little yellow and had some pretty bad black marks from the top header. A tittle rubbing compound, polish and wax got most of the blemished off but the 3M tape itself is still a little dingy. Also at the outside corners of the molding the 3M tape has worn through and the top has worn the molding all the way down to the primer.
FWIW, around the edges of the worn spot I can see clearly yellow. Also on my a pillar molding that was damaged and re-painted there was a trace of yellow which makes me believe that the moldings were re-purposed yellow originals.
I guess I could take the part off and down to a shop to have it resprayed and then find some 3M tape and reapply myself but a NIB part would be so much easier.
