Eureka Spings Arkansas Mustang Show May 26, 2012

edited June 2012 in Feature Events
This is going to be more than just going to a Mustang show. This show has been going on now for more than 15 years. It is held in Eureka Springs AR. That whole corner of NW Arkansas and SW Missouri is a great tourist distination, and has some of the best touring roads in this part of the country. Just driving to Eureka Springs in that area is a blast.

Date: May 26th, 2012 (This is Memorial Weekend)
Place: Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Below you will find 2 links, the 2nd one is a video of last years show cruise.

Plans so far, Saturday we will be at the show and cruise, should be some time to shop during or after the show. Then Sunday there will be a cruise on some of the best driving and senic roads around in this area. One is also nicknamed the Arkansas Dragons Tail after the one in NC, it is really called the Pigs Trail, (long story). I don't think AR's is quite the same, but should be a fun drive and we will have a Lunch stop a little over half way through the trip.

I have put together the cruise for Sunday myself and it is not part of the show.

Not sure how many of you are in the area except for tulsabill and gokstate, but would welcome any that can come to join us. I have a few Mustangs from YMR and from my own club here.

If any are interested I will post more info on it, I have quite a bit of it, especially on the Sunday cruise and the area.

  • We probably will not make it this year. I try to limit my out of state trips to keep the miles low and we are planning on going to the Kansas City club's show this year. Also the Eureka Springs show falls on the same weekend as Rocklahoma and depending on the line up we will probably be there.

I do know that quite a few people from the Green Country Classic Mustangs are planning on going.
  • That video is great--looks like a fun time. That's my kind of car show--cruising through the ozarks--I believe you. I bet the scenery is awesome. Time to try to convince the wife/kids.

I'll see you in KC then, I plan on going to it on Saturday and then do the Central Missouri Mustang show Sunday that same weekend. Did this last year and it was great to do 2 Mustang shows in one weekend.

Tulsa Club seems to always have a good showing at Eureka Springs from what I hear.

If you decide to go let me know and I wll get some more info to you. We do have some motel rooms left where we are staying.
  • Hmmm, the Central Mo show was not even on my radar. I'll have to think about making both. We prob would go to KC Friday and spend the night.

For KC show we usually drive up that morning, last year it rained on us on the way up.

Tulsa is probably a little farther from KC than we are. We are 30 miles SW of Wichita so about 3 hours for us.

Central Missouri show is in Columbia MO about 2 hours from KC but about 2 1/2 hours from the KC show. Our daughter lives in Columbia so that makes it easy on us. LOL.
  • To maybe help generate a little more interest out here in the midwest for this show here is a link to a Facebook page I set up for the cruise on Sunday. Be sure to check out the map at the bottom of that post.

I realize this is the start of a very busy June car show season, it's been hard to choose what to do this year. Burning up a lot of vacation to get it covered.

Usually can't get the wife to go to any local shows but these long distance larger shows it has been pretty easy. Always something for the ladies to do besides going to the show.
  • They just posted the flyer for this show, here's a link.

  • Booked my room for the KC show. Still not sure about Columbus. I may just wait and make up my mind the day of.
  • We will see you in KC.

They had it at Bass Pro last year for the 1st time, it was a very good show. We ate in the Bass Pro Cafe, pretty good food and reasonable. This will be my 3rd year going to this show. 2nd at Bass Pro.

  • We had a great time in Arkansas. Our cruise Sunday was fantastic with 15 different Mustangs and my Yelo leading the pack on a 170 mile cruise through NW Arkansas, it will be hard to beat.

We had 1 TWF, and 1 YLW/BLK (mine) and I saw a VIB/RED parked along side the road next to the show but never saw the driver.

Hope you all have a great time in Carlisle this weekend.

That would be me and my car.! I was down from St Louis to see a friend that lived nearby.

I picked up the car in Febuary and it is in the Money Pit phase after 20 years of neglect. A new top is going to be the next repair since the old one is, well, old.

While somewhat rough, the car does have a nice set of Trick Flow heads and intake on it along with all of the chassis bracing that Maximum Motorsports makes. Lord knows these cars need it.
