Top sag...

edited January 2009 in Feature Mustangs
Hello fellow FE owners,

Ok, it will soon be time for me to replace my top and I have a question about the top.

My concern is with the top frame work. To my, it appears that my the cross bars that run 'door to door' have a bit of negative arch to them. It doesn't show well i pictures so I'm not sure if this is typical.

If it is not the norm, when changing the top, does the shop just straighten then? I have never seen vert top frame parts for sail form the vendors or from repro.

As a side note... I just installed a Astro Performance T-5 built to FRPP Z-Spec... Holy crap is it great. I was starting to loose the syncos in second gear... Ultimately the 1-2 cluster wore a groove in the shift fork and perminatly shifted me up chit creek. :P No second gear at that point, and I had a hard time getting into first gear...

This news trans from Astro is rated 450/330 [>:)] so it should last quite a while. And Tony at Astro was awesome to deal with.

Ok, later,
Tim

  • Any thoughts guys and gals?
  • A good shop may be able to readjust the frame work. But if it is shot you better start checking the local bone yards or trader mags. Remember any non 5.0 vert would work for you. Take care.
