Mustang production numbers (2023)
I am still going full steam ahead on VIN identification for 6th generation Mustangs. This ties in with my search for the Ice White Package Mustangs but has totally take on a life of it’s own. I have finished my look into 2023. Just as with the 2022 VIN research, I can’t promise that this is 100% accurate as it is based on publicly available, third-party data; not Ford production data.
I had a ton of doubts on the completeness of this data as I was gathering it because the totals seemed so low. That was until I learned that 2023 model year Mustang production only went from late November 2022 until early April 2023 in order to make way for 2024 production. So here are the numbers.

As with the 2022 numbers, they are available and will be maintained in this spreadsheet as I learn more.
Interesting facts –
- 100001 to 113640 – This range of sequence numbers contains Ecoboost coupes, Ecoboost convertibles and GT Convertibles of both Left Hand Drive (LHD) and Right Hand Drive (RHD) configurations. For Mustang GT coupes, only the RHD versions are in this range.
- It is interesting trivia that 100001 is a RHD Mustang GT coupe. This may have been a pre-production car. Carfax shows this as built on 8/27/2022 well before official production began.
- 299900 to 307391 – This range has only Mustang GT coupes; actually, all of the LHD Mustang GT coupes are in this range
- 499900 to 502928 – Mach 1; all LHD
- There were no RHD Mach 1’s found even when searching the 58xxxx range which is where Mach1’s from other model years are found
- There were two outlier Mach 1’s – 1FA6P8R03P5550030 and 1FA6P8R04P5552224. They are included in the 3030 total in the chart but, based on the Carfaxes, I suspect that these cars do not actually exist making the total 3028
