My pressure reads around the "m" at city speeds. It gets down to the "a" when the oil gets hot. My car has almost 93,000 km (approx 57,000 miles) on it. I use a Motorcraft filter and GTX Syntec 10/30 oil.

I had my top replaced about 10 years ago, and have never heard of this one.

You might be surprised at what a good rad shop can do. Mine was pretty corroded inside. All good now.
-
I second the rebuild. Mine started leaking last Fall. I had the rad re-cored and it's great now.

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago also. Anxiously waiting... [B-)]

I've had my 7-Up Car since 1999. so it'll be 12 years of ownership this year.

I'm sure mine goes off when the hood is lowered. I don't keep a bulb in the socket, cause I always forget it's there when I do a car show. By the time I remember to pull it at a show, it's too darn hot. The bulb lives in my glovebox.

Nice lineup!

I did the same thing a couple of years back...played with the lights and didn't realize that I had left the map lights on. Came back a couple of days later to a dead battery.

My shop used to use the dipstick to determine oil level when doing a change, until I showed them the manual. In my opinion, the sticks are inaccurate enough that the best thing to do is have the correct amount of oil, as stated in your manual, put …

Thanks John. I'm glad that they printed my response, as the dipsticks in these cars are hugely misleading. I probably won't see the issue for a couple of weeks. For some reason, MM doesn't hit out newstands until much later than in the US.

Hi Len. I see that you are still acquiring! Glad to hear that you are still enjoying the 7-Ups. Which one did you sell? I hang out over here at Triplewhite on occasion. I consider it a sister site to my Registry. Lots of great info over here!

I have one...clean dry roads to drive on over the winter. :-)

I had a cargo net in my 03 Mach 1. It stretched across the rear of the trunk. I'm confused by the picture of the hook at the forward part of the trunk in the feature vert. Does the net not go across the rear of the trunk on the verts? What is th…

Ok, well here's the way I offset the cost of synthetic oil. I get the oil on sale, which is usually reduced by 25% or more. I only drive the 7-Up occasionally, so I change the oil and filter every 6 months. It's still less miles than a recommende…

I've used Castrol GTX 10/30 up until I had some work done last winter. Since the minor leaks were fixed at that time, I've changed over to Castrol Syntec 10/30.

Mother's makes a great convertible top cleaner, which is used with a brush. I use a good horsehair brush. Each spring, I give the top a good cleaning with the Mother's. During the season, I condition the top with 303 Aerospace Protectant. I lay …

It's been that way for a long time. I thought John had set it up that way to keep the spam engines out.

I get people asking me this question regarding the 7-Up Cars all the time. It would be nice to know, but there is just no way to get that kind of information.

Hey irishthree...I believe the 92 vert came with a single stage paint. That's why you have been getting red on your polish and wax rags. Once you get all the dead paint off, keep it well waxed and you won't have that issue as much in the future. My 7-Up has dealer-installed air. If yours is the same as mine, the a/c compressor runs off a short belt on a slave pulley from the serpentine. If necessary, you should be able to take the short belt off and bypass the compressor that way.
tulsaBill, the pony is NOT unique to the feature cars.
I removed mine from my 7-Up and the 91 I owned prior to it. In both cases, the pads were dirty and stained. I just cleaned and waxed the underside of the hood and it looks good tha…The dipsticks in these cars are just plain wrong. Best thing is to add the exact amount called for in the manual and then note where it sits on the dipstick. My 68 on the other hand sits exactly on the full line when I do the oil and filter change. My 7-Up was extremely "loose" when I got it, to the point that the windshield/cowl shake made me feel a little nauseous. I got the Kenny Brown chassis stiffening kit which tightened up the car like you would not believe. I was able to see how each…
Anyone know the total production numbers for the triple whites and the 7 ups?
There were 4,103 7-Up Cars built.I say it's your car, so do what you want with it. The only thing I might warn you on is that most 5-speed owners go for the 3:55 gears, while the 3:73s you have are perfect for the automatic cars.
