  • I just hate the fact that I've got a good motor and transmission that will be sitting around going to waste. I actually don't have a good place to store it. But I sure would like to keep it.
  • I will try that. Thanks for the suggestions.
  • Yeah I believe the directions are on the boot cover case, but like my map pocket on my passenger door, someone decided to rip/cut it off. Why do people abuse their special/limited edition cars is beyond me.

Now I'm trying to fix ev…
  • I thought about trying that with the one that I still have, but it has holes in the bottom of it where it got caught in the door for numbers of years. So that was struck off on trying to fix. And my passenger door one is completely gone. Someone dec…
  • It looks to me to be a '89 4 cylinder car that was converted to look like a 93 yellow/black. Probably all from a donor/totaled out 93 Y/B. You can tell the top is the older version with the strip in the back above the back window. Steering column lo…
  • Years ago, I saw an ad in the local trader paper of a mustang being parted out with black interior. At the time I had a '93 coupe with black interior and was needing some air vents. So I called the number. Come to find out it was a '93 Yellow Limte…
  • I've thought about this for a day or so and I swear that I read or heard somewhere that convertible trunk carpet was a little shorter or made a little differently than coupe trunk carpet even though both started out as coupes. Maybe someone else can…
  • Great info guys. I'll attempt to do this job sometime in the near future. I'll check again to see if the top hinge has any play. I may be better off to replace all of them at the same time.
  • Could you have done 1 hinge at a time? To keep door in place. Or is it impossible? I believe my problem is with the bottom hinge. I really don't want to replace the top ones unless I absolutely have to.
  • That actually was what I was lookin for. I figured I would have to do something along those lines to get it done. I've got access to about any tool to do it. Just didn't know if someone knew a short cut.
  • I knew that the changer had to be rare as I had never seen one in any fox body car. And with the ford symbol on it, I knew it could have been an option but wasn't sure. Wonder why didn't they offer the equalizer in 93?

    Also my a/c compre…
  • My car is a '92. But didn't know that it was only an option for the feature cars for the '92 model.

A dealer installed cd changer would still be rare. I believe that dealers also could install a/c on a/c delete cars. My car has an after …
  • Well, I may just opt to find some nos ones that have the mustang on them then. I just liked how yours was body contoured. I've looked around but have yet to find any like yours out there. Thanks for looking for me.

Those look good! I like how they are body contoured for an even and perfect alignment and look at all 4 corners. It doesn't matter to me if they say mustang or not. But I would love to know what brand and part number of…
  • Can one of you guys put a pic of them up here? A close up if possible of how they look on all four corners and how they attach. I would like to show the picture to the ford dealership for reference if they are able to order them. I doubt they are st…
  • I ordered the deluxe Marti report for my '92 LE back in December. I called to verify some information that I thought I had accidentally changed on my information form. I asked the lady on the phone the same question that you are asking. Is there a w…
  • Since I took the rear seat out to access the relays and top motor, I'm going to clean underneath the bottom cushion area and take the quarter trim panels off to clean behind them too. I'll check the cylinders for leaks then. So far I've found candy …
  • Thanks for all the welcomes! Really have enjoyed the site. Before I signed up, I followed as a guest for the last 3-4 years. It was really informative and helped in my search for my '92 Limited Edition. Hopefully I can get some pictures of my car on…
  • My car was built on 5/29/92. But the door has 7/92. These cars came from the factory as coupes and then sent over to Cars & Concepts to be converted to convertibles. So the car had a factory build date of 5/29/92 and a Cars & Concepts conver…
  • There is a sticker on the motor that says what type of oil to put in it. I just can't remember right now. It just seems to be a little jerky like it needs just a little added to it. How hard is it to check the cylinders that raise/lower the top? I w…
  • Thanks. I appreciate the information everybody has given me so far.

I believe replacing the relays as you suggested is the best way to go. I don't want to have to take the seat out all the time to tap on the relay to put the top up. I'm …
  • The car was almost perfect. It had a couple of spots of touch up on the front right fender and on the hood on the same side. But the passenger side door had been painted at some point. You could tell that the clear around the mirror on the door was …
  • Every '92 limited edition came with black piping. Everyone of them that I have seen has had black piping on the seats. If they don't, its because someone has changed the seats or leather. It was part of the limited edition option for '92. And '92 on…
  • Well I finally got the top up on the car. I took out the back seat and accessed the top motor and the relays. I turned on the key and tried the top but nothing but "clicking" from the relay on the driver side. So I tapped the relay a couple of times…
  • Thanks for the information. Right now it just "clicks" whenever I try to put it up or down. So I will try what you suggested. I'll update whenever I get it figured out. Probably after the Christmas holiday.
  • So even though the top went down perfect, as soon as I try putting it back up 2 minutes later, the motor has already played out? Where is the motor located? How hard is it to replace and how much will it end up costing? Anything else I should replac…
